Kyle Herrig, MS, ATC, CSCS

 

For more than 10 years, Kyle has been involved with improving individual’s fitness levels and helping them achieve their goals. This started at Iowa State University as a student athletic trainer responsible for prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries of various Division I athletes. After receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science at ISU, Kyle moved on to become a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Utah State University. With two more years of experience with Division I athletes and a Master’s Degree Kyle moved to Arizona to continue his passion of helping people improve their function and overall fitness. With continued experience at a physical therapy clinic and as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at a junior college, Kyle has spent the past five years working with clients at the Functional Performance Center. His emphasis there has been prescribing rehabilitative exercises and monitoring patient care. During this time, Kyle has also designed and implemented functional training programs for individuals and athletes of all levels. In 2008 Triplex Training LLC was set up to assist individuals in meeting their fitness goals through the prescription of functional exercise.

 

Kyle is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) through the National Athletic Trainer’s Association Board of Certification and is also licensed as an Athletic Training through the Arizona Board of Certification. Kyle also carries the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

 

To stay up-to-date with current trends and changes Kyle attends at least 25 hours of continuing education lectures and seminars per year. Kyle is also CPR/AED Certified through the American Red Cross.

 

Staying functionally fit and competitive is also a part of Kyle’s personal life as he actively competes in the sport of triathlon. Kyle and his wife Kim have competed in sprint, Olympic, and Half-Ironman distance races and just completed their first Ironman race this April. Kyle and Kim have also competed in various running events: 5K’s, 10K’s, and Half Marathons. As a part of the triathlon and running community, Kyle knows first hand how important it is to stay strong and flexible, helping to avoid injuries.
